Supporting Better Care Through Smarter Rostering
We’re pleased to announce that The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Paediatric team, part of Tasmania’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), has joined the Core Schedule community.
This expansion reflects a growing focus across Tasmania on improving workforce management, ensuring clinicians have the right tools to balance complex rosters, while freeing up valuable time for patient care.
Why This Matters for Paediatrics
Paediatric services play a critical role in the health system, providing specialised care for children and their families. Managing rosters in such a dynamic environment is challenging—covering multiple clinics, inpatient services, on-call shifts, and ensuring appropriate skills are matched to demand.
By implementing Core Schedule, the Paediatric team at RHH can expect:
- Simplified Rostering – Clear, accurate schedules with reduced manual effort.
- Optimised Coverage – Ensuring the right paediatricians are available at the right time across wards, clinics, and on-call duties.
- Improved Transparency – Greater visibility of rosters for both managers and clinicians, helping reduce misunderstandings and last-minute changes.
- Administrative Efficiency – Less time spent on paperwork and more time spent with patients.
Expected Outcomes
The rollout of Core Schedule for RHH Paediatricians will support:
- Better alignment of rosters with patient demand.
- Increased workforce satisfaction through transparent and equitable scheduling.
- Improved coordination across clinical areas, ensuring continuity of care.
We look forward to supporting the Paediatric team at Royal Hobart Hospital in achieving these outcomes and building on the success of other Core Schedule deployments across Australia and New Zealand.
Welcome aboard, RHH Paediatrics!
